This film was marketed
as the follow up to Naked Killer. Don't believe it. It does have Chingmy
Yau and Simon Yam - but as you might guess if you saw NK - they don't play
the same characters. In this one Chingmy sets out to trap a rapist who has
brutally assaulted her friend. Her method is to entice him and so she performs
a strip tease that had my television perspiring. In the end she uses an incredibly
tasteless and politically incorrect way of getting revenge for her friend
on the rapist. Only in HK could you get away with this ending. A pretty bad
movie - with the exception of the endlessly mesmerizing Chingmy. The best
thing is the sexy picture on the cover of the laser disk! It is
amazing to realize where director Andrew Lau's career went after this - all
those Young and Dangerous films plus many other well known films. This was
only his fourth film and in fact his next one was also with Chingmy Yau but
was the excellent Ghost Lantern soon to be followed by the terrific To Live
and Die in Tsimsatsui.
