Golden Girls
A warm, romantic, funny look at HK film making
back in the 60’s. It stars Lau Ching-Wan as a scriptwriter and Anita Yuen
as an aspiring actress. There are the ups and downs that one expects
in a somewhat soap opera type film that covers a number of years of their
lives. Both actors give excellent, very charming performances and you know
that they are meant for one another right from the start. But love is never
an easy road or it would be a very short movie! Really enjoyed the whole
atmosphere that this film creates. Ada Choi as the sexy rival for LCW is
also terrific and perfectly captures the look and style of 1960's glamor.
